When you create a LinguaSwap account, we may collect the following information:

- Country, languages you speak and are learning (required)
- Age, gender and bio (optional)
- Profile image (optional)
- Messages and corrections you send and receive
- Your subscription plan and current Stripe payment (without history)
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide the core functionality of LinguaSwap, including:
- Allowing you to chat and connect with other users
- Displaying your profile to other learners
- Processing subscriptions and payments via Stripe
- Saving your language preferences and settings
5. Payments
All payments are securely handled via Stripe. We only share your email and relevant subscription details with Stripe. You do not create a separate Stripe account. We do not see or store your payment card information.
6. AI Chat Features
In the future, LinguaSwap may offer premium features powered by AI, such as language chat assistance. Your messages may be temporarily processed by AI services, but will not be used to train models or stored permanently.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Vercel andNeon (PostgreSQL). We take appropriate steps to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except for Stripe as mentioned above.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Edit or update your profile
- Delete your account and data at any time
To delete your data, go to your account settings and select the delete account option.
10. Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account exists. Inactive accounts are not automatically deleted.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy in the future. You will be notified if changes are significant. Continued use of LinguaSwap means you accept the current policy.
